RoGo February Update – 2015

Welcome to the new year! Sorry about being a month late for that, but there wasn’t much to say in January. However, February is going to be a busy month. In the past few weeks, we have been adding new features and fixing bugs to the RoGo website! I would also like to address a few things. Let us begin!

Community Written Articles

Community written articles are now going to start showing up! However, we need them to be written for them to be published! If you have a topic that you want to write about, and you want us to publish YOUR work, head on over to the Submit an Article page and fill out the form. Our staff will then pick out articles that they like and will publish them. The articles will also go through our editing process to make sure they are error free.  Once published, they will then show up on the RoGo website and be tweeted out by our Twitter account @RoGoMagazine. Your name will be displayed as the author along with a link to your ROBLOX profile. So what are you waiting for? Write us some interesting articles! (after you finish reading this article of course).

Partnerships

This month, we will work on partnering with other groups! To start off, RoGo is now partnered with Kestrel! Based on a poll we’ve done a few months ago, a large majority of you requested us to set up a partnership with Kestrel. After discussing with the relations officers over at Kestrel, we have decided on an agreement. RoGo will now post articles featuring clothing created by the designers over at Kestrel. We hope to create a section similar to RoFashion, if anyone still remembers that.

We will continue to find more partners that we believe can benefit both us, and them equally. In addition, if you would like to see all of the partnerships, head on over to the Partnerships page.

Category Changes

This is a minor change, but it should be addressed. We changed up some of the categories in order to make room for some new ones as well and combining a few. Catalog Reviews and Game Reviews have been combined to be just one big Reviews category. We have also added a Contests category in order to clear up the Uncategorized category, which should always be empty, obviously.

Header Changers

We changed a couple of things with the header. With the staff button, you can now directly jump to a rank using the drop down bar. We have also removed the Captain RoGo button under the More drop down and replaced it with a Submit Article button. Don’t worry, Captain RoGo isn’t gone forever. We just thought it a direct link to the Submit an Article page would be more useful than a page for the mascot.

Fixed Search Bar

I’m sure some of you have noticed this. For the longest of time, the search page was a mess. Thankfully, I have went through and cleaned it up. It will no longer display random stuff from the sidebar or header. The result titles are no longer messy and the search word is now bold and italicized. I hope this makes searching much easier.

Comments

This is something I would like to point out. We DO have a comment section and we want to hear your feedback. All you have to do is create a Disqus account. If you don’t want to make an account, you can always login with a Twitter, Facebook, or Google+ account. I LOVE hearing what the readers have to say and it’s disappointing to see articles with an empty comment section, and I feel it’s the same for the staff.

Also, make sure you share the articles using the Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ buttons at the bottom. It helps us get the word out about RoGo and motivates us to writing more. We thank you in your support at helping RoGo grow.

That’s about it for this update. I hope you enjoyed, and keep reading!
