Natural Disaster Survival: Where Nature Fights Back

Hello again, RoGo fans. It’s been a while since I have written an article. Today I will be reviewing Natural Disaster Survival created by stickmasterluke.

I am sure pretty much everyone has at least heard of the game Natural Disaster Survival, mainly because it has managed to hold it’s place in the pages every day. In this review, I am going to give my opinion on why I think this game deserves an article on the RoGo website.

Gameplay

The aim of Natural Disaster Survival is rather self explanatory. All you have to do is survive the various disasters thrown at you on random maps which have been generated for you. It depends on what combination is thrown at you as each one gives you a different difficulty in survival.  There are nine disasters to survive from, consisting of thunder storms, blizzards, sandstorms, volcanic eruptions, meteor showers, earthquakes, fires, floods, tsunamis and acid rain. You are teleported from a high lobby onto a randomly generated map, where you are stranded on a small island where you have no choice but to run for your lives. The simplicity of this game makes it quite addictive and the number of different rounds washes away the potential of becoming bored.

This game requires some strategy in survival. The rather amusing part is watching a majority of the server head for the highest point in the map, eventually to meet their fate when lightning strikes. Heading for higher ground is never really a good idea, unless maybe a flash flood occurs. Before you decide where you are going to head before the disaster hits you, you must think about what could happen if you go there. Of course, it’s hard to tell what to do, which makes up what is fun about this game.

You can also see how many disasters you have survived, or even see how many disasters you have  played or survived on a certain map or disaster. I think this is a pretty cool feature, as you can figure out the difficulty of each disaster. Oh, and I forgot to mention that two disasters can happen at once. Every few rounds a double disaster occurs, which increase the difficulty greatly. This does come with a flaw of some rounds becoming impossible to survive, which can be annoying; or you could just buy the green balloon game pass for 80 robux or 1337 tix to make that less frequent.

Opinion

In my opinion, I absolutely  love this game because of the potential of different disasters and maps which you experience, along with the sights of player’s body parts flying all over the place. Whatever you do, each round is different and you are never safe from any disaster. All the maps are unique, my favorite being the skyscraper as it’s a joy watching it topple over. Sometimes I wait for my favorite map to generate, eating away more time.

On the talk of maps, the only criticism I can give is that in rare occurrence, survival becomes impossible. One example of this is on the map ‘Fort Indestructible’ with a flood. No matter what you do, it’s impossible to survive unless you pull off a decent stunt with the green balloon game pass.  It can be quite annoying as these rounds can be considered as a waste of time.

Rating

Gameplay  9/10

I enjoy the game a ton and the only reason I can’t give a ten is the small annoyance of maps becoming impossible to survive a certain disaster on.

Scripting 9/10

The scripting in this game is great, I have not experienced in any glitches. Scripting makes up so much of this game. The reason I can’t give a ten is probably the fact that sometimes you can randomly die from disasters (That could be down to physics) and where you loose health from blizzards when you’re inside.

Building 6/10

Rating building is very hard because there isn’t much of it. The lobby is well made, however it can get quite boring. Adding more for people to do whilst they are waiting like a swimming pool or music would be a good thing to add. The majority of maps were not made by stickmasterluke, such as the ‘Happy Home’. Other maps were also made by other users. They are quite basic, but that is needed to prevent lag when damage occurs.

Functionality 9/10

As I said above, the game runs very smoothly, only interrupted by minor errors which don’t become a very big issue when playing.

Overall I would probably give this game a 9/10.  This game is definitely worth playing if you have not already. I would like to thank you for reading this article and I hope you have a brilliant Halloween!
