Benefits of being a ROBLOX Game Developer

As ROBLOX grows, more and more Developers are coming to bring some fresh new games to the front page. But why would one be so motivated? That’s what I’m going to talk about today. I, myself, am a Developer. I’ve never quite made it to the front page. The closest I’ve got was having 500 people playing my game at once. That game is dead now, but is at 90,000 visits thanks to it. Here it is if you would like to see.

Bragging aside, let’s talk about why you should take the time to learn how to make decent ROBLOX games.

The Fan Base

While it’s guaranteed you’ll get haters no matter what your game’s quality. If your game has effort, and it has decent content, you’re going to acquire a “Fan Base”. These people will treat you like you’re a ROBLOX Admin a lot of the time, especially when you join them in your own game, and you’re going to get lots of messages from them. Fans can actually provide really good information, such as suggestions and bugs within your game. Just ignore the spam and hate mail. Mean people are a part of life.

Developer Exchange

On October 1, 2013 (1 October 2013), ROBLOX launched Developer Exchange. DevEx, short for “Developer Exchange,” allows developers to convert their Robux to US Dollars. It requires that you have OBC, a minimum of 100K Robux, a Paypal account linked, and your E-Mail must be verified. Since it first launched, the amount you get in return and the maximum you can cash out at once has increased. DevEx is found on the third tab of the Develop page, or just click here to see it. You can only cash out once a month. But aside from all those restrictions, ROBLOX could become a revenue machine like Steam. Many Developers use the cash to pay for college and just things they desire.

This box will appear on your Home and Develop page when you have at least 10,000 Robux. Because 10% is super close according to ROBLOX…

Recognition

ROBLOX staff often sponsor Developers in articles and their Twitch livestreams. This will get your popularity even higher. Many Developers say they get to talk to the Admins directly outside of ROBLOX.

I’m sure that the biggest influence is DevEx. What do you think about being a ROBLOX Developer? Has this article changed your opinions? Leave a comment and maybe even start some conversations about it!
