Introduction

Hello, RoGo readers! It’s been a while since I wrote an article, a non-tutorial at that! Anyways, I have been playing ROBLOX since November 18, 2008. I used to play games for hours on end. Unfortunately, many of them have died off either because of updates breaking their scripts, or people just don’t enjoy them anymore. But that’s why I will be telling you about my personal 5 favorite old ROBLOX games! Unfortunately, these are all broken in some way, or have been modernized a lot to the point where they’re not as enjoyable, and cannot fulfill my nostalgia.

Number 5

Thrillville Park, JJ5x5

Thrillville was a very popular place by one of the very first and still well-known ROBLOX comedy video creators: JJ5x5! He even has his own hat named after him! In Thrillville, you go around playing on the attractions and other fun activities. This game has been updated to be a little more modern, but I still liked the original more. There are a lot of videos that were made here. It also made the Legokid popular. Legokid was a figure who would do certain commands by someone typing “Legokid COMMAND” in the chat. The most popular one is his dance command. I remember playing this game a lot and watching JJ5x5′s videos, which are sadly gone now. Some were recovered, but the majority were taken down by JJ5x5 himself.

Number 4

King of the Hill, builderman

In King of the Hill, you must defeat the King of the Hill to gain his power. Once you’ve gained his power, you will have a more powerful weapon and more health. The goal, of course, is to remain the King of the Hill. You can roam around the map to hide and find other weapons and power-ups. I also really enjoyed this game, especially when I get to be the King of the Hill. The intensity of everyone coming after you because you have all that power!

Number 3

Galleons, Wingman8

In this pirate-type game, there are two ships, each equipped with cannons and a seat for someone to man the direction the ship goes. One team wins by successfully sinking the opposite team’s ship. This game was pretty hard because some people had the wits to fire at the enemy’s cannon, and also because the ships had to be facing each other’s cannons to get shots out. But nevertheless, I love the intensity of this game and how complex it was for its time. It still works today, and has been modernized a bit. I still really enjoy it since it still works and hasn’t been so modernized.

Number 2

Reason 2 Die (Before the modernized updates), PlaceRebuilder

NOTE: The game is closed right now.

This is one of my absolute favorite games from ROBLOX before 2010. It is basically Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 in ROBLOX. It was really fun to have to work together, but also scary to be a lonely survivor. Unfortunately, updates have ruined this game for me. Its new weapons make the game unfair, and its new maps also have unfair advantages for the survivors. However, before all the updates, this game was absolutely fun to play.

Number 1

Builderman’s Vacation Sim (Builderman Hotel), builderman

For how old this game is, it’s extremely complex. Not just in its structure, but its scripts too! I absolutely adored this game as a kid, and I still do today! In fact, I’m going to make a remastered version of this game, especially since it’s mostly broken due to updates. In Builderman Hotel, you pay money to stay in a hotel room. How do you gain money? Working around the hotel of course! Unlike the modern hotel type games, you actually have to work to stay in a room, and I really love that! I find it boring to just sit around, role-playing. You also have to eat or else you’ll starve to death. This game is also huge, it has a lot of rooms and other cool little areas to hang around. Basically, this is the coolest hotel game on ROBLOX. Don’t want to work just to stay in a cozy room? Too bad.
