Player Points are about to become even more hectic!

Player Points are about to become even more hectic!

Why do I say that? Here’s why. ROBLOX is soon going to give game creators infinite Player Points to give out. Before, they were funded by Robux purchases in-game.

Also, (this may upset some people,) they’re going to reset everyone’s Player Points one last time. The global leaderboards are going away, and you no longer have a total Player Points count on your profile page. Why did they do this? They want Player Points to become a full-fledged developer service, by making individual leaderboards for every ROBLOX game.…

Dominus Astra

Dominus Astra, released on 22/June/2014, is a Limited Unique item, with 26 in-stock and, a member of the Dominus series of hats.

Dominus Astra” is written in Latin, and translates to “Lord of Stars,” while the description translates to “Sieze the night.”

Appearance:

Texture: I just love this texture, it was designed with astronomy/astrology in mind, hence the name “Dominus Astra.” It is a snippet of outer space that is used for the hood, the feathers (I really have no idea what those things are; whatever floats your boat I guess) has a relatively simple design.…

ROBLOX needs your help getting them trending on Twitter!

ROBLOX needs your help in getting “ROBLOX” more well-known. You can help out by starting the hashtag #ROBLOXDev! They don’t want only game developers in on it, they want casual players like you as well! Go on and use the hashtag “#ROBLOXDev” to show and tell the world your amazing work, or how you appreciate others’ great games!

So far, there has not been much success, but I posted this to remind you loyal RoGo readers about it!…

Ocean Empire

Avast, Green-hands! I’ll be reviewing Ocean Empire—a game currently in the BETA Stage that could already pass for a full game!

It’s time to get our sea legs—full throttle ahead!

Ocean Empire Logo.

Gameplay

Rather than your average third or first person ROBLOX game, this has an isometric, aerial birds-eye view. Implemented is a point and click styled movement system. Much like a Real Time Strategy game, you gather resources and have the ability to enhance your unit. Ocean Empire is currently in Beta and developed by ETC Team Atlas, published on etcatlas‘s page.…

The Mad Murderer Review

We all know The Mad Murder, it’s on the front-page every day, and is constantly being updated. It’s also always the #1 Top Earning, due to Loleris’s insane gamepass prices. The Mad Murderer has been the top visited place each month since it took the throne from Murder Mystery earlier this year.

The Two Mainstream Combat Games: And What Makes Them Tick

Though I will probably be criticized for generalizing Roblox combat into two mainstream games, I do hold confident the incontrovertible fact that these two selections are known by almost everyone who is an active member of the Roblox Community.

Here we have them – Apocalypse Rising (often referred to as “Apoc”), by 2013 Game Developer of the Year Gusmanak; and Call of Robloxia 5 – Roblox At War (often referred to as “CoR”), by renowned and critically acclaimed developer litozinnamon.…

RoGo's Progress (9/17/2014)

It has been over three weeks since we first launched the new blog and I would like to talk about it’s progress. This article will be filled with statistics and other data that we have collected since the launch, so if you are a fan of numbers, stick around!

First off, I would like to thank the staff for keeping up with the articles. Although we were not able to keep the goal of two articles per day (which we didn’t expect), the staff has managed to post at least 12 articles per week.…

RST - Part 2: Explorer and Properties

This is Part 2 of a seven-part tutorial on the basics of ROBLOX Studio 2013. Note: This will not delve into extremely advanced properties of ROBLOX Studio – this tutorial is only meant to teach beginners and newcomers the most basic principles and concepts of using this program.

In the event that ROBLOX makes more updates to Studio and changes the layout around, these basic principles will most likely stay. You’ll just see their implementation, or their appearance in a different way.…

Torture- I mean, show your mobile device players a video ad!

Disclaimer: Basic Lua knowledge required to interpret this tutorial.

About two weeks ago, ROBLOX added a new API that allows users to show players on a mobile platform a non-ROBLOX related video advertisement. They may also implement it onto computer platforms. This is a revenue tool, in case you’re wondering or couldn’t figure it out. Silly goose.

Statistics and limits

A video ad will be up to 30 seconds long, and during it, the player cannot see or hear anything from the game they’re playing.…

Before we get started, we need to ask ourselves a simple question: why do we use Studio?…
