Custom Loading Screens

NOTE: This tutorial requires basic Lua knowledge.

It’s been a while, but I’m back with another tutorial! Today, I’m proud to show you how to create a custom loading screen for your place! If you didn’t know this was possible, now you do.

Introduction

As it sounds, with custom loading screens, you can replace the default loading screen a player sees when they first enter a game. Not only is this possible, but the API (Service) that makes this possible also allows you to run LocalScripts on a player almost as soon as they enter the game!…

Roblox Winter Games 2015

Welcome back to another Winter Games on Roblox! This year, Roblox has picked 4 popular games to be featured in the event, each of which gives players an opportunity to win 2  special hats! As always, these hats are obtainable by winning badges in each of the games, which can be done by completing a specific challenge.

Here is the game lineup for this year (In order of worst game to best game in my opinion):

Number 4: Roblox’s Top Model by DizzyPurple

I hadn’t heard of this game before the Winter Games, so when I played it at first, I was completely new to it.…

Taking a Glimpse at New Terrain

There’s been a lot of hype over the new terrain which was previewed in October’s BLOXcast, and lucky for us, we have been given the opportunity to try it out. If you haven’t realized, everyone can play with the new terrain on the recently made gametest5 site, as long you are willing to create an account and download an updated version of ROBLOX Studio. In this article, I am going to show you all the different types and features of the new terrain which should hopefully come out later this year.…

What's in STORE with Dinizterz!

A few days ago, I had the privilege to interview Dinizterz, developer of Zombiecon (1,100,000+ visits), and his most recent, Black Friday Simulator (5,000+ visits). He also owns a development studio named [ARSENAL] (otherwise known as: Arsenal Industries). This seems to be helping him a lot to connect with his fans and give them updates, while they give him feedback.

Zombiecon first appeared around the time of BloxCon 2013, hence the name. Your goal is to defend the BloxCon facility through 20 waves of zombies (including at least 2 bosses) using a wide variety of weapons provided in-game, or through purchase.…

Mechanical Mastery: An Interview with Bongo

Just imagine how this place would look using zeuxcg’s hack week project!

Welds and hinges and motors! Oh my! Who needs articulated physics to make impressive contraptions? Certainly not this ROBLOX builder. Bongo has not only managed to master the art of building, but has also engineered moving mechanical marvels using –you guessed it– just welds, hinges, and motors. I had the opportunity to interview TheOnlyBongo, a familiar face on the ROBLOX subreddit, where I asked about his history on ROBLOX, and his fantastical creations.…

The Conquerors Mk. II Guide and Review

The Conquerors Mark II is a sequel—and/or continuation of—a game originally by Hat Helper, inspired by my favorite, Little Men, has been created by Berezaa.

Gameplay

Will you play the whole 120 minutes, or will you make the game time less than that by conquering all your enemies? It’s your fate to decipher in this do-or-die real time strategy game.

Simple maps allow for fluent gameplay, which requires strategical thinking. Six teams face off—one at your side—Green, Yellow, Violet, Blue, Red and Black.…

New Catalog Series: BoTM/Bandera of the Month

Disclaimer: This article contains opinions you might not agree with. Keep in mind this is MY personal thinking.

ROBLOX recently released BotM: January Chicken Bandana on 1/23/2015. There has been past monthly series like Chicken of the Month and Owl of the Month, but by the looks of this, BotM will be my favorite. Bandit, perhaps one of the most classic hats of ROBLOX, has played a big role in many—including myself’s—character appearances. I will continue to monitor this series and I hope from the best of it.…

Living the Good, Kingdom Life™ (Kingdom Life™ II)

Inspired by Boopbot’s original game, Kingdom Life™, ROBLOX user thelolguy301 makes a successful attempt to re-create and improve Boopbot’s creation (with his permission) into Kingdom Life™ II, an outrageously high-quality roleplaying game for all ROBLOXians alike!

Gameplay

There are so many things to explain in this masterpiece of a roleplay, but for now, I won’t explain every single detail; Those you’ll have to find out for yourself.

First you’re greeted with a title screen. Below the Kingdom Life™ logo, you will see two options; to be a male player or a female player.…

Interview with Legojoker

Legojoker is an underground developer that for sure needs more recognition. He took on the challenge, handpicked by earth100, to continue Little Men. Not only did he refurbish and extend the game; he created a sequel, Empirical Domination. I got the chance to interview him. The response was answered in a big chunk, I’ve broken it up into paragraphs for an easier read.

I started playing Little Men in…I think 4th grade since I joined in 3rd.

Your New Addiction: Phantom Forces

Phantom Forces is perhaps one of the most stunning FPS shooters Roblox has seen in a long time. With beautiful dynamics, animations, and stunning weaponry, you’d have to be half blind not to recognize its beauty. Despite the fact that the game literally blows you away as soon as you enter, developer litozinnamon continues to insist that the game is only in “Baseplate” stage, and still has an immense amount of development to undergo. Whatever the case, kick back (or rather, kick forward) and beat the living crap out of the enemy.…
